Kierland Lofts: A One-of-a-Kind Arizona Real Estate Proposition
The Plaza Lofts is an Arizona real estate opportunity like no other, not only because of the north Scottsdale luxury condo community’s unparalleled lifestyle and amenities – but because of its location inside Kierland Commons and the 730-acre Kierland master-planned development, all thoughtfully created by Woodbine Southwest Corporation.
About Kierland Commons
Today’s version of yesterday, Kierland Commons is a 700,000-square-foot Main-Street-style development that features 70 upscale specialty retailers, exquisite dining, entertainment, office space and 84 Scottsdale lofts in an urban-inspired neighborhood setting. The 38-acre mixed-use project is an innovative environment designed to serve as the gathering place for the surrounding communities of Northeast Phoenix and Scottsdale, as well as residents of The Plaza Lofts at Kierland Commons. Developed by Woodbine Southwest, Kierland Commons was the recipient of the 2009 Award of Excellence from Urban Land Institute and the 2010 winner of an Environmental Excellence Award for the category of Livable Communities/Sustainable Communities from Arizona’s Valley Forward Association.
About the Kierland Master-Planned Development
The Plaza Lofts at Kierland Commons and Kierland Commons are part of the larger Kierland master-planned community. Woodbine teamed with the Herberger family of Phoenix/Scottsdale to create Kierland on a 730-acre site owned by the Herbergers since the 1950s. The master plan was unanimously approved in 1991 in the largest rezoning case in Phoenix’s history. After an initial residential site sale in 1993, Woodbine developed the Kierland Golf Club, which opened in 1996. A steady pace of site sales followed, and in 2002 Woodbine opened the highly successful The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa on a site surrounded by the golf course.
Kierland’s location in the Scottsdale Road resort corridor of northeast Phoenix offers dramatic views of the surrounding McDowell Mountains and Pinnacle Peak. A three-mile hike-and-bike trail links residential, schools, retail and recreation within the development, which is bisected by the six-lane, landscaped Greenway Parkway. This area is a favorite among locals and out-of-towners seeking the ideal piece of Arizona luxury real estate to call their own.
